IIOur history
From rented rooms in a kindergarten to two campuses and the Cambridge curriculum. Twenty-seven years, told through our archive.
1999 – 2004
Founded as Gegeerel School — “enlightenment” — with one clear idea: rigorous mathematics and languages for every child.

Opened by order of the Capital City Governor on 26 May 1999, specialising in mathematics and foreign languages. First lessons in rented rooms at Kindergarten No. 129.

Classes move into rented premises in today's Eco-Asia University building.

Our teachers write the “Mathematics Elective” textbooks for Grades 1–5, distributed nationwide.

We publish an advanced-maths curriculum and train city and rural teachers in a 60-hour course. City champions in the specialised maths olympiad series.

A “Good” rating in national inspections — one of only a few schools — as we begin to lead the capital in teaching quality.

Work begins on a building of our own. Our students win the advanced-maths schools' cup for the third time.
2005 – 2012
A building of our own, national awards, our first graduates — and a new name: Oyunlag.

Gegeerel School opens its own building. Wins at URBANEK-2005 and the P. Enkhbold National Mathematics Competition.

Named by the Ministry of Education and the Mongolian Students' Association.

Our students win the country's first two bronze medals at the Southeast Asian Mathematics Competition, and compete in the pan-European Kangaroo 2007.
A building extension and a sports hall open. City champions in rapid mental maths.

Renamed Oyunlag — Mongolia's first mass-education school with advanced maths, informatics and languages. Our first website and online learning.

Ranked first of all public and private schools in Bayanzürkh district for quality.
Every member of our first graduating class enters university. In Kangaroo maths: 16 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Honoured as a leading school of Ulaanbaatar. Private-school youth chess champions.
2013 – 2019
New buildings and laboratories, an International Mathematical Olympiad medal, and a steady climb up the national rankings.

Again every graduate enters university, and we rank in the national top ten. We launch the “Oyunlag Education” project.

A new 720-student building opens, designed to international standards.

A full IT lab opens and we become an official Cisco Networking Academy. 238 olympiad medals this year.

Room for 300 more students and a second sports hall. We pioneer the Singapore Education Innovation project.

N. Erkhes (Grade 12) wins our first International Mathematical Olympiad bronze. Second nationally in the entrance exam; 430 olympiad medals.

The A-wing opens with fully equipped laboratories for the natural sciences.

First in Mongolia to run a preparatory class fully online. A video library covers every lesson, Grades 1–12.
2020 – 2026
Software of our own, first in the nation four years running — and the Cambridge curriculum.

We move to Microsoft 365 Education and teach fully online. The Oyunlag School app launches for students and parents.

First in the national entrance exam, and first nationally in Physics, English, Social Studies and Biology. New Apple Mac and design labs.

First nationally again. Our second campus building opens, and the Oyunlag Teacher app launches.
First in the national entrance exam for the fourth year running, with an average score of 706.
We build our own platform in-house: one system for learning, attendance, transport, meals and payments.
Oyunlag is authorised to deliver the Cambridge curriculum. A new chapter begins.
The chronicle continues.
